Dodoma, Tanzania | 12 September 2026
Potential Pioneer Initiatives (PPI) successfully hosted a Parent Engagement Session on 12 September 2026 at Resort Jeshini, Ihumwa – Dodoma, bringing together parents and guardians for an important conversation on the role of parents in identifying, nurturing and developing children’s potential, talents and skills.
The session was part of PPI’s broader commitment to supporting children and young people to discover their abilities, develop practical skills and grow into purposeful and empowered individuals.
Why Parental Involvement Matters
Parents and guardians play a critical role in a child’s development. They are often the first people to notice a child’s interests, strengths, abilities and challenges.
A child may demonstrate strong potential in sports, arts, technology, leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, creativity or other areas. However, that potential may remain undiscovered if the child is not given opportunities to explore, practice, learn and demonstrate what they can do.Parents and guardians play a critical role in a child’s development. From Raising Children to Empowering Children
One of the key messages from the session was the need to broaden the way society looks at parenting.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

PPI Academy: Connecting Potential with Skills
During the engagement, PPI also introduced its vision for the PPI Academy, an initiative designed to provide children with structured opportunities to discover and develop their potential.
The Academy aims to guide children through a development journey that includes discovering their interests and strengths, developing skills, practicing, showcasing their abilities and tracking their progress.

The objective is not to make every child the same, but to help each child discover what they can do well and provide the environment and guidance needed to develop it.The Academy aims to guide children through a development journey that includes discovering their interests and strengths, developing skills, practicing, showcasing their abilities and tracking their progress.

The Journey Continues
The Parent Engagement Session was more than a meeting with parents. It created an opportunity to begin an important conversation:
